Continue your journey towards fluency or professional development today by enrolling in ASL 102! Here is a brief sample of what you will learn in this course: Targeted, interactive modules will guide you to engage in essential topics to further develop receptive and expressive signing skills. The first six modules of the course get you participating in receptive development while continuing to build your core vocabulary. The following modules focus on a combination of receptive exercises and a chance to practice your expressive skills through presentational activities. Through this course, participants will be able to demonstrate increasing knowledge of ASL grammar, structure and terminology necessary to effectively communicate in sign language. The duration of the course is approximately 13-15 weeks and requires internet access with the ability to stream and upload videos. In addition to the self-paced online learning material, you are also assigned a personal ASL tutor to provide support and guidance while interacting in ASL during weekly live chats (via Zoom). Weekly assignments and instructor feedback are designed to help you practice, improve and reinforce learning. The course can also be purchased without weekly Language Labs and feedback. A certificate of completion awarded at the end of the course certifies that you have successfully finished the course, with a language proficiency of at 70%, signifying that you have acquired the necessary knowledge and skills within the program and qualifies you to register for ASL 201. Payment Options: Cost of the course is currently $550 full/initial payment OR $100 Registration fee + recurring weekly payments (13-weeks) OR $250 Registration fee only (if studying independently without weekly instructor feedback or language labs. NOTE: to be awarded a certificate of completion for the course, a language proficiency evaluation is required and can be scheduled at your convenience).
